Okuden is an Independent  retail specialist store located in Northcote and Hurstbridge.

We focus on Melbourne made clothing/lifestyle and home wares which highlight Japanese design .

We are seeking a mature person with a clear understanding of retail service preferably in the gift, clothing and jewellery environment. The team member we are looking for will be able to create a rapport with our customers, enjoy the experience of service and maintain calm in a busy environment and have a natural attention to detail. So the role requires a flexible attitude with the ability to prioritise a busy day working autonomously. If you are a confident  communicator who enjoys retail please apply. 

 The hours and days are flexible and we are open to part days although preferably 3-5 days a week which will include weekend work. although casual to begin with we hope to have happy permanent staff.

About the position:

  • Observe and serve customers in an intelligent, kind and knowledgeable way, extending the values of Oku Den.
  • Maintaining store front, updating stock regularly
  • Use a Cloud based POS
  • Window displays and merchandising displays
  • Handling of Eftpos and banking
  • Apparel styling and fitting customers
  • Administration of receiving goods
  • maintain inventory POS
  • keeping our store and stock sparkling clean


Key criteria needed to apply for this job

  • Retail experience as an assistant up to  management level
  • High level of design/display skill  in Jewellery, clothing or gifts
  • Previous experience in a clothing retail business
  • can do attitude
  • Excellent communication skills - the ability to read a customers level of service required
  • Computer literate -  Cloud based Point of sale, shopify, daily email communication, excel.
  • Self Starter - motivated, independent, responsible and reliable 
  • gift wrapping excellence
